Dear Beth,
What do you want to be when you grow up? A dictionary? A best-seller? What? A college textbook?! Well, I want to be famous for something. Maybe acting or maybe be the greatest commiedienne ever. Anyway, when I grow up and am famous, I’ll have you published. Then maybe you’ll be a BESTSELLER in the New York Times. I dunno. Maybe I’ll be in the New York Times! I don’t know. Well, gotta go clean now!
Love ya,
Tracy
Hmmm. I have to get back to work on that “famous” thing.
My question is, how exactly does one grow up to be a dictionary? I’ve been accused on occasion of being a walking thesaurus, but a dictionary seems a bit extreme.
